A New Chapter

As many of you may know, Keith and I promised we would wait until our 5th anniversary to have kids of our own.

And as many of you may know, anniversary #5 is just around the corner.

And as many of you may know, I like being prepared. So I need your help.

I need advice. Whatever advice you can give me. Everything I need to know about pregnancy, pretty much. I wanna know what to expect so I can be as prepared as possible.

Tell me what your must-have baby items are.
What advice best helped you get through your own pregnancies?
What are the best books I can read?
How can I keep my hubby involved in the whole process?
What am I in for emotionally and physically?

Whatever you want to give me, I'm ready to listen. So, bring it on, people! Hit me with your best shot!

  1. I know this is an older post but I found your blog thru MSM and as a new mom of a baby about to be a year I thought I'd give you my 2 cents worth of advice. It can be very overwhelming-VERY! What to Expect When are Expecting is a good book but a lot of info you can find them at goodwills all the time and also the Happiest Baby on the Block helped immensely. Everyone seems so different as far as what the must haves are. Mine would be good swaddling blankets, a small fan for white noise at night and a bar of burke's bee baby soap. Keeping it simple can keep you sane! Also I asked my husband for help with the nursery and when our son Ezra was born he was the "swaddling expert". We too have been married 5 years and it was work after Ez was born but loving my husband by doing things for him like packing his lunches when I wanted to stay in bed forever really showed him I love him. I am sure when The Lord's timming comes with His mercy He will show you how to handle it all. :)

    1. Thank you so much, Angela!

We've got the fan part covered: hubby can't sleep without one. He's carted the same old box fan around for years because he needs the white noise to sleep as well!

I have a friend who loaned me an older copy of What to Expect, but it must be REALLY old because a lot of the information is very outdated. It actually said that water birth was dangerous because the child would drown! Seriously?

Never heard of that particular brand of baby soap, but I'll definitely check it out! Mostly, right now, we're trying to get things in order financially. I'd like to be able to afford to stay home once Little One gets here, but unless God does what God does best, it ain't gonna happen. I'm praying God comes through, big time! Trying to find a babysitter when you work nights is a literal headache!

And the Lord's timing in perfect, because I'm finally pregnant! Just over 3 months, with Little One due in July.

And thanks for finding me! I feel like such a little dot out in the internet. I'd update it more if I wasn't so busy working my day job. There's not much interesting to tell very often.

But stay tuned! I'll be posting soon about my attempts to learn cooking. (Yes, I know. A wife should know how to cook already, but hubby liked doing it so much, I just let him take over the kitchen and didn't learn much outside the basics. Like pouring cereal. And making sandwiches.)
